The Le Pont Organization was established by Issa Touma, a self-taught photographer, in 1992. It started out as a photography gallery and hosted numerous national and international photography events. It also played host to the International Women's Art Festival in Syria, which showcased various art forms such as music, dance, theatre, sculpture, photography, performance, and video art.
In 2009, the New Line Art Organization was established in partnership with Le Pont to promote broader knowledge, appreciation, and practice of all modern art forms in the Middle East. Since 2011, with the onset of armed conflict in Syria, the gallery has taken the lead in promoting art and culture to counteract the effects of the conflict.
