Visual Voices is an organisation founded in 2018 in Nicosia, Cyprus, with a focus on using arts and culture to promote positive social change. The organisation recognises the importance of visual arts in reaching diverse audiences and aims to support young emerging visual artists, typically between the ages of 18 to 35, in developing or continuing their socially-engaged artistic practices. Their goal is to empower visual artists as communicators who can convey impactful messages through their artwork, sparking personal and communal reflection and dialogue.
They work with youth artists from communities affected by violent conflict and believe that they have incredible potential to stimulate dialogue and peace-oriented social narratives through their artistic practice. While their main focus is in Cyprus, they also strive to establish international connections and collaborations with artists and practitioners from various countries, particularly those affected by violent conflicts.
